Partizan Belgrade went through a complete renovation during this summer’s transfer market, also bringing over to the Serbian capital former NBA players. Among them, there’s Frank Ntilikina.
The French guard shared the Olympic experience with a former black-and-white icon, Mathias Lessort. And as he told Mozzart Sport, there could have been the possibility of seeing them together playing in Partizan too. “Partizan called me last year as well. Then the priority was to stay in the NBA”, he revealed.
He followed by revealing this year’s negotiations. “This summer, even before the Olympic Games, I spoke with Partizan again. I felt that they wanted me to be a part of their club. Then, every decision is much easier. It meant they saw something in me, and I gladly accepted”, Frank Ntilikina added.
The former Charlotte Hornets backcourt player continued by talking about his countrymen. “The main thing he told me was to be myself on the floor because I chose the ideal club to progress. I just need to be faithful to myself and my game”, he said about Mathias Lessort, who excelled in Partizan.
Frank Ntilikina also hopes to get the same connection with the black-and-white fans as the center had. “Who wouldn’t want to have a connection with the fans like Mathias [Lessort]? That’s every player’s dream. I love basketball, I live for those connections that are created in the halls. What Mathias [Lessort] did here is something really special”, the 26-year-old guard also shared.
