After a disappointing season, Barcelona made many changes, starting with hiring Joan Penarroya as the new head coach.

At the start of his tenure, the Catalan side recorded a big win, taking down the Beijing Ducks 99-57 in their first pre-season game.

All the new signings debuted, with Justin Anderson scoring 12 and Kevin Punter 10 points. Juan Nunez scored four, with six assists, Youssoupha Fall nearly had a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds, while Chimezie Metu added five points.

However, it was Alex Abrines who led the way with 14 points, while Willy Hernangomez scored 13.
