Barcelona started the preseason on the right note, convincingly defeating the Beijing Ducks.
Alex Abrines led Joan Penarroya’s team with 14 points.
“It took us some time to get into the game, but we improved as it went on. For a first game, we saw some positive things from the team, even though we haven’t had much time working together. Step by step,” Abrines said.
Coach Penarroya also shared his thoughts.
“I’m happy with the team’s involvement against an opponent with a very dynamic game and a lot of movement. It was difficult for us at the start, as we were late. In the second half, we improved. Regarding attack, there were logical losses. What I’m most satisfied with is the 29 assists from the team. We have to be a team that plays fast but with passing as the first option,” Penarroya added.
He assures that the team will only get better.
“The team has a huge margin for improvement. It’s only our first match. At the moment, we are not ready to play at 100%. We have to control the loads; only Juan Núñez played more than twenty minutes.“
