Looking for a new place where to showcase his abilities in the EuroLeague after ending his stay in Milan, Shabazz Napier is officially Gordon Herbert’s choice to fulfill playmaking roles in Bayern Munich.
Bringing experience to the Bavarian side with a 1+1 deal, the 33-year-old is coming off his second experience in Milan, where he put up 10.9 points and 4.0 assists per game in the EuroLeague.
The American guard – who has a six-year NBA experience in his resume – first joined Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2021 for his first overseas appearance, dropped 33 points in the VTB Supercup against CSKA Moscow but was ruled out for the rest of the season with a long-time injury.
He came back to debut in the EuroLeague midway through the 2022-23 season, trying to put Milan back into the Playoffs picture but failing to do so. Leaving Italy last summer to join Crvena Zvezda, he eventually returned to Ettore Messina’s in the 2023-24 season.
Overall, since coming to the Old Continent, he has been averaging 11.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.2 steals all-time in his EuroLeague career. He won back-to-back Italian Championships with Milan, beating Virtus Bologna both in 2023 and 2024.
