Real Madrid is gearing up for the next blockbuster signing of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague in the form of Cedi Osman.

Osman, 29, is in advanced talks with Los Blancos, according to Eurohoops sources.

With limited room for a guaranteed contract in the NBA, he is strongly considering a return to Europe for the next step in his career.

Osman became a free agent after one year with the San Antonio Spurs. Appearing in 72 games of the 2023-24 NBA Regular Season under the guidance of Gregg Popovich, he averaged 6.8 points per contest with 47.9% from the field, including 38.9% three-pointers. He added 2.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per contest.

The Turkish forward moved his talents to the NBA in 2017, after featuring in 98 EuroLeague games with Anadolu Efes. Back in 2015, he was selected with the 31st overall pick of the NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Between 2017 and 2023, he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Last offseason, he was traded to the Spurs.

At the international level, representing Turkiye went from the junior to the senior level in 2014. Shortly after being named tournament MVP and leading his country to gold medals in the 2014 FIBA U20 EuroBasket, he made his senior debut in the 2014 FIBA World Cup. Steadily taking on larger roles, he went on to compete in the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Manila, the 2019 World Cup, and the 2015, 2017, and 2022 editions of EuroBasket.
