Giorgos Printezis decided to end his tribute night on the court, which was one of the best decisions ever. It wasn’t scripted, but Printezis had the chance to make the game-winner and he did it, leading Olympiacos to the 84-83 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Printezis suited up at halftime and put a fairytale-like ending to the night, which also belonged to his heir, as Sasha Vezenkov after one year in the NBA returned to Europe for Olympiacos and started the pre-season was already hot.
He finished the night with 20 points and Shaquielle McKissic also had an impressive showing, scoring 19.
For Maccabi, newcomer Jordan Loyd ran the show with 19 points, while injured Darryl Macon was missing, while Jalen Hoard and
John DiBartolomeo didn’t play.
Olympiacos didn’t use Thomas Walkup, Evan Fournier, Nigel Williams-Goss, Filip Petrusev, and the injured duo of Keenan Evans and Moustapha Fall.
