With five players scoring in double figures, Panathinaikos Athens beat Anadolu Efes 83 – 72 in the Final of the “EuroLeague stars in Hala Tivoli” preseason tournament that was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Jerian Grant had 14 points plus six assists for Panathinaikos while Marius Grigonis, Ioannis Papapetrou and Dinos Mitoglou scored 13 apiece. Lorenzo Brown added 10 points and eight assists for the Greens that were without Kostas Sloukas, Kendrick Nunn and Mathias Lessort, among others.
Despite these absences, Panathinaikos was superior for most of the game and led even by 23 points, 79 – 56, with five minutes to go.
Dan Oturu (18 points, six rebounds) and Jordan Nwora (13 points) stood out from Efes. The Turkish side was minus Shane Larkin.
