Carlik Jones scored 21 points as Partizan Belgrade defeated Derthona 96 – 94 in overtime for the semifinals of a preseason tournament held in Trapani, Sicily.
Tyrique Jones contributed 19 points to Partizan’s win before exiting the game with an apparent injury, two minutes before the end of the fourth quarter. Sterling Brown had 14 points. Frank Ntilikina dropped seven points, including a go-ahead basket for the 85 – 82 in the last minute of regulation.
Kyle Weems hit a triple of his own after an offensive rebound on the other end to force overtime. The game remained close in the extra period until Partizan made some decisive plays on both ends to grab the victory.
