Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and Daryl Macon reached an agreement to terminate their contract, the team announced on Tuesday.

Carrying an ACL injury from his recent stint with the Shenzhen Leopards in the Chinese Basketball Association, CBA, Macon underwent surgery. The initial plan was for the 28-year-old combo guard to focus rehab in Israel, under the supervision of the medical staff of Maccabi. However, he will instead return to the United States. This decision led to contract termination upon mutual agreement, per the press release issued by the team based in Tel Aviv.

Signing 27-year-old Kobi Simmons for the preseason and with a team option to extend the contract for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, Maccabi previously reinforced the backcourt for head coach Oded Kattash, heading to the next edition of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and domestic competitions in Israel.

Wenyen Gabriel, Jaylen Hoard, Rokas Jokubaitis, Jordan Loyd, and Levi Randolph were other summer signings. Also, John DiBartolomeo, Tamir Blatt, Jake Cohen, Rafi Menco, Jasiel Rivero, and Roman Rorkin inked contract extensions, while Will Rayman returned from a loan assignment at Saint-Quentin.

The Arkansas native, a former standout of the Arkansas Razorbacks, is a veteran of 12 NBA games spread between the Dallas Mavericks in 2018-19 and the Miami Heat in 2019-20. He also logged 31 appearances in the EuroLeague during his spell with Panathinaikos in 2021-22. Additional continental experience via the Basketball Champions League, he was featured in 12 games between AEK and Galatasaray.
