In the middle of the preseason schedule, Anadolu Efes had a positive friendly game victory in a preparation Turkish derby. The two-time EuroLeague champions beat Galatasaray 88-75.
After showing good impressions already against Bayern Munich, Panathinaikos, and Pinar Karsiyaka, the newest arrival Jordan Nwora had another great performance. The Nigerian forward led his team in scoring with 23 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals against Galatasaray.
Daniel Oturu (17 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists) and Darius Thompson (13 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists) were also important in giving Tomislav Mijatovic’s team the win over the city rivals. Shane Larkin was ruled out due to a sprained ankle.
On the yellow-and-red side, James Palmer Jr. was the team’s highest scorer with 15 points, immediately followed by Otis Livingston (14 points) and Will Cummings (13 points).
While Efes is approaching the upcoming 2024-25 EuroLeague season where they will try to fight back for the Playoffs, Galatasaray will play once again in the Basketball Champions League. In today’s friendly game, they unveiled their newest home jersey.
