Real Madrid completed its 2024-25 preseason games with an 83 – 79 win over Varese in the Torneo Ciutat de Mao held in Menorca, Spain. This is the last game of the Blancos before the Spanish SuperCup tips off on September 21.
Edy Tavares (18 points), Mario Hezonja (16 points) and Dzanan Musa (16 points) were the ones to lead the efforts of Real Madrid. The latter also hit a key triple in the final seconds for the 83 – 79 to secure victory and complete a comeback for his team in crunch time.
Thanks to a spectacular Jaylen Hands (33 points), Varese led 43 – 37 at halftime and was up 72 – 64 down the stretch. That was when Hezonja drained back-to-back triples and Musa put the finishing touch for Real.
Real Madrid captain and Menorca native Sergio Llull was honored at halftime, receiving a standing ovation by fans.
