In the past few months, it appeared like a three-city race to host the 2024-25 EuroLeague Final Four was set in place: Barcelona, Belgrade, and Abu Dhabi were the three main candidates to get the event.
However, according to Mihalis Stefanou of Eurohoops, the Catalan city is no longer an option to host the next EuroLeague Final Four, following Kaunas in 2023 and Berlin in 2024. Abu Dhabi and Belgrade, therefore, remain the two best candidates to win the race.
Abu Dhabi would be a choice of complete innovation, considering that the EuroLeague Final Four has never been hosted away from the Old Continent. It would surely create a precedent for the upcoming editions.
On the other hand, Belgrade has hosted the EuroLeague Final Four twice in the last six years: in 2018, when Real Madrid won, and in 2022, with Anadolu Efes as winners. Belgrade Arena was also home to the 2024 Basketball Champions League Final Four, played for the first time ever with an LED Glass.
According to latest info it seems that Barcelona is NO longer an option for hosting #Euroleague Final 4 this season.
