Crvena Zvezda certainly has some big ambitions ahead of the 2024-25 EuroLeague.
According to Zvezda president Nebojsa Covic, the Serbian team’s goal is to register at least 24 wins in the regular season. Such a record would give Red Star a guaranteed spot in the playoffs and most likely also a position among the Top 4 teams that gain homecourt advantage.
“Our goal is to record a score of 26-8, 25-9 or 24-10 in the new season of the Euroleague,” Covic said per Meridian. For context, fourth-placed Barcelona had a 22-11 record last season in the EuroLeague while first-seeded Real Madrid sat at 27 – 7. In 2022-23, AS Monaco needed 21 wins to finish fourth and Olympiacos registered 24 wins to complete the season atop of the standings.
The plan for Zvezda also includes winning every title on a domestic level. “Of course, we also want trophies in the ABA League, KLS and the National Cup, “Covic added. “We have a team and we are ready for new challenges. We have a lot of games to play in the upcoming season, we need to play 75 to 80 games in 275 days.”
Zvezda made some notable signings during the offseason like guards Codi Miller-McIntyre and Isaiah Canaan.
