Monaco coach Sasa Obradovic believes his team requires a new signing – preferably a combo guard – in light also of Nick Calathes’ absence due to injury.:
“We need some addition,” Obradovic said after Monaco’s win over Olimpia Milano in their 2024-25 EuroLeague opener. “Calathes will come back. We’re struggling with this. I think we should go on the market. It’s obvious… what you are missing and what you are searching for. Someone in the combo position.”
“We definitely need some players on rotation. We’ll also see what’s happening with Furkan after he left the court,” Obradovic had previously mentioned. Furkan Korkmaz exited the game in the third period with an apparent leg injury.
“Without Calathes, we are struggling a little bit in the guard position,” Obradovic also added. “Mike [James] we need to get in game shape so we need to also be careful with him because he actually started to practice with the team a week ago. We have to be smart. You saw today that everything is different when he’s on the floor.”
