Scottie Wilbekin sadly tore his ACL and put his season in doubt with Fenerbahce, as he’s expected to miss the vast majority of the 2024-25 campaign in the EuroLeague and Turkish League.
The yellow-and-blue powerhouse has quickly moved to the market to find a replacement in the team’s backcourt and has put its attention on a former NBAer.
According to Eurohoops sources, Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team is near a deal with Manisa’s Saben Lee, who recently shone in his first game in the Basketball Champions League. He dropped 36 points and 6 assists to help the newcomers beat UCAM Murcia on the road.
The 25-year-old explosive guard started his NBA career in 2020, selected with the 38th overall pick by Utah and immediately traded to Detroit. He played 85 games with the Pistons, before moving to the Philadelphia 76ers for a short stint in 2022. Last season, he stayed in Phoenix.
In the 2023-24 NBA season, he played only 24 games with the Suns, without starting any of them. Before moving overseas, he had 3.0 points and 1.3 assists per game, but since his early days in Turkey this season, he has been proving to have the abilities to emerge as one of the most interesting guards here.
