While Fenerbahce Beko is negotiating with Manisa’s Sabel Lee to fill the gap on its roster after Scottie Wilbekin’s season-ending injury, another Euroleague team has joined the race for the player.
As Ismael Senol reported and Eurohoops can confirm, Maccabi Tel Aviv is also looking to add Lee potentially. The Israeli side has been interested in the player for quite some time and may move faster now that Fenerbahce is also in the game.
Fenerbahce still has the upper hand also because Lee is hesitant to join Maccabi due to the situation in Israel following the invasion of Lebanon.
Lee had a standout debut in the 2024-25 Basketball Champions League with Manisa, posting 36 points, six rebounds, and six assists in a 103 – 97 win at UCAM Murcia. This is the first year in Europe for the 25-year-old player who carries the experience of 134 NBA games from 2021 through the previous season.
Manisa will get a buyout either way and the Turkish team is already on the market for a possible replacement.
