Jordan Loyd is returning to the place he has been calling home in the last few years. After officially leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv due to war concerns, the American guard is reuniting with AS Monaco according to Eurohoops sources. He will sign until 2026.

With the latest and updated Turkish Airlines EuroLeague regulations, he will be immediately available for AS Monaco despite having already played twice in this year’s EuroLeague with another team.

Last year’s Monegasque high-level backcourt, therefore, will ultimately stay the same with Mike James and Elie Okobo in the mix and Jordan Loyd rejoining the group. Moreover, when he recovers from his current injury, Nick Calathes will add even more playmaking to Sasa Obradovic’s team.

Jordan Loyd’s departure message for Maccabi

He made sure he said goodbye to the yellow-and-blue fanbase moments after finishing the latest EuroLeague encounter against Monaco. “One of the hardest things I’ve had to do in my career is to leave where the heart wants to be. I’ve gotten so close with all my brothers, coaches, and staff. I’ve enjoyed being around you guys and the atmosphere you all create”, he first said on social media.

“Thank you for accepting me. To the fans, you guys showed me so much love in only a few months and I couldn’t be more grateful. When signing here this summer I went against most of my family’s concerns because of how badly I wanted to play for this club and the people here. With the info I received, I took a gamble & left my family behind thinking that the situation was on the decline”, he added.

“With wishful thinking, I hoped it would be coming to an end and we could rejoin later in Tel Aviv. It seems the situation has escalated and after the historic attack earlier this month that I witnessed in person, the uncertainty was simply too much for my family and me. I leave with a heavy heart but also with the knowledge that I’m so very fortunate to play a game for a living”, Jordan Loyd also said.

“Real people are going through seriously difficult times and I can only hope that it will come to an end. I embrace everything, the reactions, the negativity and on top of that I know God is leading the way, not me. Maccabi, thank you and I hope we can meet again one day. Wishing you guys nothing but the best”, the former Maccabi Tel Aviv guard ultimately followed, hoping to come back to Israel once.
