After a surprising loss to Bayern Munich in the EuroLeague opener, Real Madrid got back on the winning track by taking down Partizan Belgrade at home.
Unfortunately, Andres Feliz suffered an injury and couldn’t finish the game. He was injured in the second quarter on a drive to the basket and had to leave, unable to put weight on his foot, assisted by the club doctor and staff.
“It doesn’t seem like an easy injury to recover from quickly. He’s going to be out for a while because it seems to be the plantar fascia. We’ll see tomorrow during the tests if there is an injury in the fascia. We’ll see what the tests are going to determine—its extent and how long he will be out, but it seems like we’re going to be without him for a while,” Real Madrid‘s head coach Chus Mateo gave the first prognosis on Feliz’s injury.
The good news is that Usman Garuba might be back soon.
“I believe he is going to be out for a short period. We hope to recover him soon. We need him. I hope to have him back soon. I don’t know if it will be the next match, or the one after that, but I hope to have him back soon,” Mateo concluded.
