The decision of the Appeals Judge regarding the sanction of Facundo Campazzo was revealed on Monday.

The initial sanction stands. Consequently, the 33-year-old Argentine point guard will serve a one-game suspension as Real Madrid visits Baskonia in Buesa Arena on Tuesday.

Per the press release: “The Appeals Judge has rendered their decision after the appeal presented by Real Madrid and Facundo Campazzo regarding the sanction imposed on Facundo Campazzo for actions that represent a lack of respect towards the referees during its road game against FC Bayern Munich.

The Appeals Judge has ratified the original sanction, therefore Facundo Campazzo will not be eligible to play in Round 3.”

Before Round 2 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season, Madrid submitted an appeal on the sanction ranging from a one-game suspension to a fine of 5,000 euros. The case going to the Appeals Judge allowed Campazzo to play against Partizan Mozzart Bet in WiZink Center on Thursday. He put up eight points, 11 assists, and six rebounds, pushing his side to a win.

After clearing the one-game suspension, the experienced floor general will be eligible for Round 4 of the Regular Season. In a rematch of the championship game of the 2024 Final Four in Uber Arena, the team coached by Chus Mateo is set to host Panathinaikos Aktor in the capital of Spain on Thursday.

Back to Spain’s Liga Endesa Regular Season, Los Blancos stay at home for a Round 4 fixture versus Girona on Sunday.
