Crvena Zvezda wins in Istanbul over Fenerbahce and remains perfect

In the battle of the teams with a 2-0 start in the season, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet shocked Fenerbahce BEKO. The Serbs got the big 76-57 road win to keep their record perfect after Round 3 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Milos Teodosic returned to action for seven minutes and had two points and Joel Bolomboy stole the show with 18 points and 11 rebounds, Nemanja Nedovic added 17 points and Mike Daum had 14.

Nigel Hayes-Davis for Fenerbahce had 20 points, but they were not enough, Devon Hall scored 10 and no other players scored in double digits.

It was a night to remember specially for Daum who as he said: “It’s great to be back in Turkey, here were my EuroLeague career started with Efes giving me a chance”.

An incredible start

Zvezda simply shocked Fenerbahce, closing the first period with a 14-point lead (26-12) which jumped to 19 (31-12) with Nemanja Nedovic scoring 10 points in four minutes of action.

At that moment, the hosts reacted and managed to make it a 7-point game after a 12-0 run, but the answer was a three (34-24) by Joel Bolomboy who had 12 points in the first half.

Still, Fenerbahce continued the push and made it a five-point game (36-31) with Hayes-Davis scoring 15 points already. At the end of the second period, the score was 38-31 and the hosts were hoping to complete the comeback.

That was not the case. Fenerbahce trimmed the lead to four (45-41) but Zvezda was not rattled, closing the third quarter up by 12 (54-42) while the pressure was on the Turkish side which finally collapsed.
