Partizan gets the job done against Bayern

The home side prevailed on the last game of a rare day with eight EuroLeague contests. And it feels natural since it was Partizan playing at home.

The final score was 86-78 with the Serbs beating Bayern Munich and the two teams sharing a 1-2 record after Round 3 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Former NBA player Sterling Brown with 22 points was the top scorer of the winners, followed by Carlik Jones (14 p.), while the trio of Tyrique Jones, Frank Ntilikina, and Isaac Bonga – against his former team – scored 13 points each.

“It’s good to get the win in front of our fans, even if it was ugly at the end”, said Jones after the final buzzer.

Andreas Obst with 15 points was the top scorer of the balanced Bayern effort which couldn’t complete a comeback in the second half when the hosts relaxed a bit.

Playing with fire

Partizan was the better team from the first minute, getting a 24-15 lead in the first period and a 17-point advantage at halftime (49-32). Nothing changed in the third period with Partizan putting on a show and leading by 19 (71-52).

However, things got a bit interesting in the end.

With the game apparently decided, Bayern managed to trim the lead to six points (80-74) with a partial score of 22-9, two minutes before the final buzzer.

Still with Iffe Lunberg scoring a goal-foul (83-74), Partizan kept its distance and was not in real danger after all.
