Sasha Vezenkov came back to the EuroLeague as he never left. In each of the last two wins from Olympiacos against Zalgiris Kaunas in Round 2 and Milan in Round 3, the 29-year-old superstar was decisive and named MVP of the Round for both occasions.
After the joint-award with Neal Sako in Round 2, putting up a 30-PIR performance over the Lithuanians, Sasha Vezenkov doubled it up against Ettore Messina’s team, finishing with a 31-PIR winning night.
The 2022-23 EuroLeague Regular Season MVP, who left last summer to try his chances in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings, had 22 points and 7 rebounds for Georgios Bartzokas’ side. He also registered 1 assist and 2 steals, while shooting 3/6 from two, 3/5 from three, and 7/8 at the line.
“We played great defense for most of the game. One big win that gives us confidence. As we said from the beginning of the season, we have to protect our house, so we are really happy about that”, Olympiacos’ forward commented after the game.
Receiving such an award, the Bulgarian forward has now reached Mike James and Mirsad Turkcan in third place for EuroLeague MVP of the Round honors, with 11. Sasha Vezenkov is now trailing Nando De Colo (16) and Shane Larkin (17) on top of the list.

- R2: Neal Sako (ASVEL) vs Virtus, 30 PIR – Sasha Vezenkov (Olympiacos) vs Zalgiris, 30 PIR
