Joining Fenerbahce Beko as injury relief following Scottie Wilbekin being forced to the sidelines, Skylar Mays signed a contract for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

Confirming rumblings, the Istanbul outfit announced his addition on Friday.

Last season in the NBA, Mays averaged 4.1 points and 2.2 assists per contest over 38 appearances between the Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers.

Using overseas options for the first time in his career, he will be teaming up with Wade Baldwin IV, Tarik Biberovic, Khem Birch, Metecan Birsen, Bonzie Colson, Marko Guduric, Devon Hall, Nigel Hayes-Davis, Melih Mahmutoglu, Boban Marjanovic, Nicolo Melli, Dyshawn Pierre, Sertac Sanli, and Arturs Zagars in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

After four Rounds in the 2024-25 Regular Season of the EuroLeague, the team coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius is tied for second behind a 3-1 record. At the domestic level, a 2-0 W-L tally is tied with Anadolu Efes, Mersin Spor, and Tofas for the lead in the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi standings.

Coming out of Louisiana State, Mays was selected with the 50th overall pick of the 2020 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks. He went on to play in 115 NBA games, including nine in the Playoffs. After two years with the Hawks, he joined the Blazers at the bottom end of the 2022-23 season and moved to the Lakers midway through the 2023-24 season. A few weeks ago, he signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves but was waived earlier this week.
