Olympiacos Piraeus star Evan Fournier mentioned the mistakes he made during crunch time in his team’s game at Anadolu Efes, which proved costly for the Reds.

“It’s me. It’s my fault,” Fournier said while on the Playmakers TV show of Novasports. “There’s two bad plays. One where I get my pocket picked because my dribble is too high and the other one is just a bad read.”

With the score 87 – 86 and 1:24 to play, Fournier lost the ball to Efes’ players. After another turnover by Shaq McKissic, the French player drove to the basket and tried to make the pass, only for Jordan Nwra to steal the ball and Elijah Bryant hit the floater for the 89 – 86 on the other end.

Fournier had a team-high 20 points on 7-11 shots until those moments, in his to performance with the Olympiacos jersey so far.

“I did [feel well]. But two big turnovers to lose the game where the team needed me the most. That’s frustrating,” Fournier added. He dropped 13 of his points in the last 6:22 of the third period, including the buzzer-beater of the quarter but was then substituted and stayed on the bench for the next six minutes.

“It doesn’t matter which game it is, there’s always positives and negatives. We did some good things offensively. We moved the ball pretty well. We started the game well. We have to build on that. And make sure we take care of rebounding and the turnovers out of the game first”.
