Ergin Ataman has made a name for himself by predicting results for his teams with great anticipation. Already making resounding predictions about winning the EuroLeague in back-to-back fashion while still being at Anadolu Efes, he repeated himself in his first season with Panathinaikos.
During today’s press conference organized to announce the partnership renewal with Instacar, however, he decided to hide his predictions when asked about making it once again to the Final Four.
“Last year I said [we would have made it to the Final Four because I had a big message from the beginning of the year from the team. This year I have to wait a little bit. I need the message from the team and the captain [Kostas Sloukas] that we will be in the Final Four again. We are working to get this message soon, but I am waiting to get it from the team”, the Turkish head coach commented.
Panathinaikos has started the EuroLeague season as reigning champions with a balanced 2-2 record, suffering two straight defeats to Paris and Real Madrid on the road after beginning with two wins over ALBA Berlin and Bayern Munich. They will now travel to Istanbul to face Fenerbahce in Round 5.
