Filip Petrusev will continue with Crvena Zvezda MeridianBet, on loan from Olympiacos.

The move was officially announced on Wednesday.

The Belgrade native was linked to a potential return to the Crvena Zvezda during the offseason. Similar reports resurfaced over recent hours, leading to confirming the 24-year-old forward/center on the roster of head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign.

Playing under the guidance of Giorgos Bartzokas from the top of the season, Petrusev put up 5.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per contest over four appearances with the Greek club in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. At the domestic level, he averaged 17.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game over three showings.

Moustapha Fall and Nikola Milutinov recovering from injuries projected a limited role with Olympiacos. Combined with a recent injury setback for Joel Bolomboy, he reunited with the fellow EuroLeague participant, following the first spell lasting through the 2022-23 season.

Opting in favor of focusing on a professional career, Petrusev left Gonzaga in 2020. Joining Mega Soccerbet for the 2020-21 campaign, he was named season MVP of the ABA League, among more distinctions in the regional league. From there to Anadolu Efes and a minor role in winning the 2021-22 EuroLeague championship to the first stint with the Belgrade outfit and winning Serbian League and Cup titles.

Following three NBA games between the Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings early in the 2023-24 Regular Season, he joined Olympiacos last November. He added the Greek Cup and Super Cup to his list of championships.
