Baskonia playing at home is in most cases the favorite and ALBA playing on the road has usually very slim chances of winning, especially with Trevion Williams missing.
That’s why the final 80-57 for the home team was not a surprise for anyone.
The game itself proved to be pretty uneventful with Markus Howard scoring 26 points on 7/14 threes in 24 minutes of action and taking over in the third period.
“I am excited for what will come, we have a lot we can improve on”, Howard said, setting the tone for the next game.
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot added 11 points, and no other player of Baskonia scored in double digits, simply because it wasn’t needed on the way to their third win in five Turkish Airlines EuroLeague rounds.
Marin Hermannsson with 16 points was the top scorer of the Germans who dropped to 1-4 and in this game, they never gave themselves a chance to be competitive.
An easy night for Baskonia
Baskonia set the tone early on, leading 24-13 after 10 minutes of action and ALBA not being able to turn the tide.
The halftime score was 39-26 after Baskonia built a 20-point lead (35-15), and with Howard having scored 21 points, the third period ended with the home team up by 23 points (63-40).
ALBA couldn’t avoid a blowout, shooting just 5/19 threes and 4/10 free throws.
