Shane Larkin will be sidelined for three to four weeks.
Anadolu Efes updated his status and projected a timeline for his return to action on Friday.
Larkin, 32, hurt his right ankle during the game versus EA7 Emporio Armani Milan in Unipol Forum on Thursday. The attached medical tests confirmed an ankle sprain. A soft tissue injury and bone edema will force him to sit out team activities for the next three to four weeks.
Before exiting the contest opposite Olimpia Milan, he had two points, six assists, and one rebound over 12 minutes. Averaging 10.8 points, 5.4 assists, 2.2 rebounds, and 0.6 steals per contest over five appearances, he helped his side start the 2024-25 Regular Season with a 3-2 W-L tally. However, he will be sidelined for several games moving deeper into the schedule, including the upcoming two-game week featuring FC Barcelona at home on Tuesday and ALBA Berlin on the road on Thursday.
A veteran of 224 games played in Europe’s premier club continental competition, including 191 with Efes, he joined the team based in Istanbul in 2018. In 2021 and 2022, he was crowned EuroLeague champion, making the All-EuroLeague Second Team on the first run and the First Team to fuel a back-to-back title. Further contributions led to the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi championships in 2019, 2021, and 2023, among more domestic titles.
In the NBA, he logged 269 appearances with the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Knicks.
