A new partnership is on the way for European basketball, exploiting the legacy of one of the leaders in sports management education, following the legacy of a sporting icon.

The ELPA and the Johan Cruyff Institute have started a new partnership to “create enhanced academic opportunities for EuroLeague players, providing them with access to world-class educational programs designed to prepare professional athletes for successful careers after sports”.

According to the official press release on the agreement, “these programs will focus on areas such as sports management, leadership, marketing, and business in the sports industry. Through this partnership, ELPA members will gain access to flexible, high-quality education while continuing their professional basketball careers”.

Representatives of both parties shared their happiness about the new partnership. “With a strong background in training basketball players, we are committed to continuing to support their personal growth and academic success, even as they advance in their professional basketball careers”, Johan Cruyff Institute Academic Director Victor Jordán said.

ELPA Managing Director also touched on the matter. “Johan Cruyff Institute has a proven track record of helping athletes reach their academic goals. [This is] an alliance that represents an evolution in academic opportunities ELPA offers to its members. By working together, we aim to amplify the environment that supports players’ personal growth and academic success, while they are still professional basketball players”, Bostjan Nachbar reflected.
