Zalgiris Kaunas center Bryant Dunston hit the buzzer-beating hook shot to hand his team a win over Crvena Zvezda. It was quite the shot but not as impressive as the assist that led to the basket, according to the American big man.

“Amazing [pass],” Dunston said on Edgaras Ulanovas’ pass to him after the game. “He deserves more credit than the shot.”

With 3.2 seconds remaining, Ulanovas sent a long inbounds pass from the sideline to Dunston who received the ball and sank the basket for the victory. Zvezda had previously tied the score thanks to a triple by Codi Miller-McIntyre.

“We drew it up to get a shot,” Dunston said on the play. “Obviously, we wanted to get to whoever was open. Ulanovas is an amazing passer and threw a great pass. Sylvain Francisco and Dovydas set some great screens and I was wide open.”

When he released the shot, Dunston wasn’t exactly sure that the ball would go in. “I thought I shot it over the rim. I thought I put too much power on it. Luckily it rolled in. I was happy.”
