Zalgiris Kaunas signed NBA guard Lonnie Walker IV, as the club officially announced. The contract will include an NBA buyout clause that the player can exercise until February 18 per ESPN’s Shams Charania

Walker was rumored to be on the agenda of several EuroLeague clubs after he was waived by the Boston Celtics earlier in October.

The 25-year-old player hadn’t managed to get a guaranteed contract over the summer and was signed to an Exhibit 10 deal by the NBA reigning champions in August.

In 2023-24, Walker averaged 9.7 points and 2.2 rebounds in 58 games with the Brooklyn Nets. It was the fifth year in the NBA for the former 18th overall pick by the San Antonio Spurs.

Zalgiris was looking for a new player to add to its roster after the departure of guard Tyrone Wallace. The Lithuanian powerhouse is currently tied with Barcelona at the top of the EuroLeague standings with a 5-1 record.
