Alpha Kaba officially parted ways with Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.
The Yellows updated his status on Friday, confirming the completion of a short-term contract.
Kaba, 28, debuted in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and logged four appearances, tallying 0.2 points and 0.8 rebounds in 1:57 per game for the team coached by Oded Kattash.
After representing France at the junior level, Kaba switched to Guinea for senior international action, participating in the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers and the 2023 FIBA Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Nigeria.
Back in 2017, he was selected with the 60th overall pick of the annual NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks. His NBA rights were traded to the Houston Rockets in 2023.
With Maccabi seeking more options for the EuroLeague and domestic competitions from the top of the 2024-25 campaign, Kaba signed a short-term contract in late September. With Wenyen Gabriel now nearing a return from a knee injury, he was dismissed.
Other players currently available are Jake Cohen, John DiBartolomeo, Jaylen Hoard, Rokas Jokubaitis, Saben Lee, Omer Mayer, Rafi Menco, Levi Randolph, Will Rayman, Jasiel Rivero, and Roman Sorkin. In addition, Tamir Blatt is expected to sit out approximately two more weeks due to a hamstring injury.
At 3-4, the Israeli club is half a game outside the seeds leading to the Play-In Showdown and 1.5 games away from a direct ticket to the EuroLeague Playoffs. In Israel’s Winner League Regular Season, a 3-0 start set the pace.
