Panathinaikos Aktor has ruled out Marius Grigonis for approximately six more weeks.

Head coach Ergin Ataman updated the status of the 30-year-old Lithuanian small forward on Thursday.

“There is a serious back issue and he will be out for at least one to one and a half months,” noted the Turkish tactician.

Grigonis, 30, has already been sidelined for over two weeks. Before being forced to the injury list, he tallied 3.0 points and 1.0 assists over four appearances, including two starts in the 2024-25 installment of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. In Greek domestic competitions, he added 12.8 points per game.

Heading to Round 8 of the EuroLeague Regular Season and the derby versus Olympiacos in OAKA Altion on Friday, Kostas Antetokounmpo has been ruled out with a knee injury. So far in the continental campaign, he has been limited to four minutes of action against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne in Round 6, putting up three points and one block. In two fixtures of Greece’s Stoiximan GBL, the 26-year-old big averaged 4.5 points and 3.0 rebounds.

The remaining players are available for head coach Ataman.

On the opposite end of the next edition of the eternal rivalry, every player is ready for action, except Keenan Evans (knee surgery) navigating a long-term spell on the injury list since joining the Reds during the offseason.

One game behind leading Zalgiris, the Greens currently sit at 6-1 in the EuroLeague. Lower in the standings, Olympiacos carries a 4-3 W-L tally.
