Paris Basketball coach Tiago Splitter enjoyed the atmosphere that numerous visiting Partizan Belgrade fans created in Adidas Arena as his team captured its fourth straight EuroLeague win.

“It was great,” Splitter said in the post-game presser.

“A lot of Partizan fans. It’s normal, right? A lot of people from Serbia that lives here in Paris. A lot of people flew to Paris to visit the city and also watch a good basketball game. It was good. It was a good atmosphere. Of course, I wish it was 100 percent Paris fans… but we’ll see. Maybe soon we can fill the arena with 100 percent Paris fans.”

Earlier in the flash interview after the game, Splitter jokingly poked at Partizan fans. “They came also to have some vacation but they’re going back with an L,” said the Brazilian coach.

Despite being a rookie team in the EuroLeague, Splitter’s Paris showed great mettle against Partizan to climb higher in the standings.

“Very physical game,” Splitter said. “The defense for both teams was superior than their offense. Not many points. They slowed us down and they didn’t let us play the way we liked with a lot of switching defense. We knew that. We had prepared against that before the game. In the end, we found some shots to get the win.”
