A plethora of injuries have disrupted EA7 Emporio Armani Milan through the early stages of the 2024-25 campaign.
Seeking more healthy players to improve the situation in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and Italy’s LBA UnipolSai, head coach Ettore Messina shared updates on members of the injury list. Following Round 7 of the Regular Season in Italy’s top-flight division, he talked about Shavon Shields (groin), Ousmane Diop (right ankle), and Josh Nebo (right arm).
Shields, 30, has resumed basketball activities and is projected to play versus Vanoli Cremona in Round 8 of the LBA Regular Season next Monday. “The hope is he can return in Cremona with reduced minutes,” noted the 65-year-old specialist.
Diop, 24, has been sidelined for nearly one month but might return in Round 10 of the EuroLeague Regular Season, against Partizan Mozzart Bet in Belgrade Arena at the bottom end of the double-game week on Friday.
Nebo, 27, will undergo an MRI on Wednesday, added Messina. Earlier in the season, before the most recent setback, he was sidelined with a groin injury and sat out for nearly one month.
David McCormack recovered from a right knee injury and contributed four points in a narrow win over Umana Reyer Venice on Sunday. Therefore, he is available to play against ALBA Berlin in Uber Arena on Tuesday, in Round 9 of the EuroLeague Regular Season.
The team based in Milan currently sits at 3-5 in the EuroLeague and 5-2 in the domestic league.
