A knee injury for Mouhammadou Jaiteh adds to concerns for AS Monaco head coach Sasa Obradovic.
Jaiteh, 29, has been ruled out for Round 9 of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season, a meeting with Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet in Salle Gaston Medecin on Tuesday. Consequently, he is in danger of missing the following game as well, a clash with Baskonia in Fernando Buesa Arena on Thursday.
The native of Pantin started in six out of the seven first outings in Europe’s premier club continental competition, averaging 7.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest. He then sat out the game against Anadolu Efes in Round 8 last Friday and was sidelined for Round 8 of France’s Betclic Elite Regular Season on Sunday.
The season MVP and champion of the 2021-22 edition of the 7DAYS EuroCup with Virtus Segafredo Bologna moved his talents to the La Roca Team before the 2023-24 campaign. He went on to be crowned French champion for the first time in his career.
Additional injury concerns for Monaco include Nick Calathes. Beyond initial projections of missing three to four weeks due to a knee injury, a return date is now unclear. Debuting with his new team in the domestic league, the experienced floor general has yet to launch his 13th EuroLeague campaign.
Also, Juhann Begarin, stashed in Europe by the Boston Celtics over the last three years, is dealing with a minor injury and is questionable to play against Zvezda.
