It wasn’t the easiest of nights for Panathinaikos, which had to struggle hard to find a win over Maccabi Tel Aviv. In the end, the defending champions managed to beat the Israeli powerhouse 93-87 and improved their record to 6-3 in the EuroLeague standings.
A crucial contribution came from Kendrick Nunn, who led his team in scoring with 21 points over 6/10 from two, 2/3 from three, and a perfect 3/3 at the charity stripe.
However, the former Miami Heart and Washington Wizards guard wasn’t only focused on his personal performance in the post-game flash interview. “I don’t like how the game was officiated. We just had to go five on eight”, he reflected after getting a technical foul with 5:55 on the clock in the fourth.
Later on, he praised the whole team’s performance. “Credit to my teammates, just getting it done. Grinding it out, we had the momentum to have the lead. In the fourth we got down, got some stops, and got the victory”, Kendrick Nunn also followed after the team’s win.
“Everybody is confident in what they’re doing. Just playing together, the offense will come. Our main focus is just getting stops. Offense will come. That’s what we did tonight to get the victory”, he added.
