The German derby ended up being a glorified practice for Bayern Munich.
The hosts got the easy 115-86 win on a game that was practically decided before it was even started and ended up with Bayern having a 7-3 record and ALBA dropping at 2-8.
ALBA Berlin fielded only 11 players for the game, three of them teenagers. Martin Hermannsson, Will McDowell-White, Malte Delow, Justin Bean, Louis Olinde, and Matt Thomas were out due to injury, while Khalifa Koumadje has been suspended by the club until further notice.
Despite their injury woes, they managed to beat Milan two days ago in Berlin, but miracles can’t happen twice.
Carsen Edwards scored 25 points, Devin Booker had 18, Nick Weiler-Babb added 12 and Andreas Obst had 11 for the winning side which finished the game with 54,5% in threes (18-33).
Matteo Spangolo had 23 points for ALBA, but it was just a sidenote.
A walk in the park
After a competitive first period with ended with Bayern up by one point (28-27), the game was a formality.
The score of the second quarter was 34-15 for Bayern, things were even worse for ALBA in the third (34-14) and the hosts entered the last period leading by 40 (96-56).
Bayern relaxed in the last 10 minutes of the game, but nothing changed in the big picture.
