The Turkish national team roster for the upcoming FIBA Windows is already announced and does not include any Fenerbahce player, with the exception of Onuralp Bitim, who is loaned to Bayern Munich.
Fenerbahce coach Sarunas Jasikevicius was asked about the matter in the press conference after the win over Zalgiris and he tried to explain the situation.
Fenerbahce had already announced that their players will not compete under coach Ergin Ataman in the Turkish national team, after a gesture that he made last September in the prep game of Panathinaikos vs Galatasaray referring to the 3-1 win of Galatasaray over Fenerbahce in football.
Jasikevicius stated on the matter: “Ultimately, the decision is not mine, as far as I know, only Onuralp Bitim will go to the national team. I don’t know if (Ergin Ataman’s gesture) had an impact here. Still, how can I say it, sometimes everyone can be a little smarter”.
