Partizan president believes team will come out of current crisis stronger

Partizan Belgrade is coping with quite the slump in the EuroLeague right now after suffering its sixth straight loss to drop to a league-low 2-8.

Multiple of Partizan’s losses have arrived in the last moments or minute of games that could’ve had a more favorable result for the team. Still, that doesn’t change the fact that the Serbian powerhouse performs poorly.

Partizan president Ostoja Mijailovic is hopefull that the team will not only recover from this crisis but emerge stronger than before.

“I am aware that the results are not good when it comes to the Euroleague,” Mijailovic said to Sport Klub. “What remains for us is to trust the coach and the players. When things go bad, everyone and everything is suspected, even the coach who was first in European basketball nine times and won over 60 trophies in his life. We will come out of this crisis stronger than when we entered it, I am firmly convinced of that.”

“I would like them to win, but I can’t blame them because they all want to win and fight as hard as they can,” Mijailovic added. “I know that this crisis will pass us by, we need one big victory to start believing that we can do more than this,”

Asked if there are any thoughts of new signings, Mijailovic explained why such thing is difficult right now.

As for bringing in players, it is known who does it in the club,” Mijailovic said. “As always, the management will do its best to provide such conditions. You have to be realistic, we replaced almost the entire team after last season. When we did the last transfer window, there were very few players on the market, can you imagine how many are available today when all the teams have completed their squads and no one is going to release anyone from the team in the middle of the season.”
