Olympiacos head coach Giorgos Bartzokas updated the status of Tyler Dorsey after his player missed domestic action on Sunday and explained why Sasha Vezenkov sat out the second half of the game versus PAOK mateco in Thessaloniki’s PAOK Sports Arena.
“Dorsey is out for sure on Thursday,” he extended the absence of the 28-year-old guard to Round 11 of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season and the clash with Baskonia in the Peace and Friendship Stadium, SEF, “He is dealing with tendonitis in the thigh. We hope he can return next week.”
Helping the Reds start the continental campaign with a 7-3 tally, Dorsey averaged 5.1 points, 1.4 assists, 1.0 rebounds, and 0.3 steals per contest over nine appearances, including one start.
As for Vezenkov, he exited Round 7 of Greece’s Stoiximan GBL Regular Season with 20 points to his name. However, he will need an MRI. “Vezenkov hurt the big toe of his right foot,” confirmed Bartzokas before revealing necessary medical tests.
After missing the one-sided affair versus PAOK, Evan Fournier (back) is expected to rejoin team practices on Tuesday and return to action against Baskonia. Barring a setback, Naz Mitrou-Long (foot tendonitis) will follow the same path heading to the next challenge in Europe’s premier club continental competition.
Recovering from knee surgery and stuck to the injury list since joining Olympiacos during the offseason, Keenan Evans remains sidelined.
The rest of the players, including Nikola Milutinov who did not play against PAOK, are healthy.
