AS Monaco superstar Mike James posted a heartfelt message on social media after Sasa Obradovic was officially fired by the club, expressing his deep appreciation for the Serbian coach and the time they spent together on the team.
Here’s what James wrote on Instagram:
“In the most simple of words I want to say thank you. For not only being one of my favorite coaches I’ve ever had but one of my favorite people. You came to a team in a horrible state with a horrible version of me and turned it into a European household name. Roca Team since you have arrived has been a team to be feared and a team many fans love to watch. You pushed me to be the best version of myself everyday even when I didn’t see it myself. I appreciated every second of it coach and I know this won’t be our last encounter. Thank you coach.”
Obradovic coached James at Monaco from 2021 to this season. The American guard had some fantastic runs during these three years, including one of the best individual seasons of his career in 2023-24 when he was named EuroLeague MVP.
Monaco parted ways with Obradovic Monday (18/11), a day after a French League loss to Le Mans at home. The team had a winning record on both the EuroLeague (6-4) and the French League (6-3).
