After two sensational games with Manisa in the Basketball Champions League, Lee jumped to the EuroLeague, signing with Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.
A month and a half later, he is reportedly leaving the Israeli club to return to the Turkish team, according to Arale Weisberg of Walla Sport.
Reportedly, Lee has informed his friends at Maccabi that he is expected to leave soon. Manisa is anticipated to reimburse Maccabi for the buyout fee and reclaim the player.
Due to a clause in his contract that allowed him to avoid staying in Israel, Lee only joined the team the day before each EuroLeague game. For example, he skipped a week of training and met his teammates for the first time at the pregame shooting session in Milan. He did not even participate in Maccabi’s fourth straight loss under Oded Kattash.
Lee began his stint with Maccabi impressively, scoring 23 points in a win over Anadolu Efes and hitting a game-winner against Real Madrid. However, he has since averaged just 6.3 points in losses to Virtus Bologna, Panathinaikos, and Olympiacos.
The guard will return to Manisa, which is in a strong position to advance from the Basketball Champions League Regular Season but is struggling in the Turkish championship with only one win in seven games. In his two BCL games for Manisa, Lee scored 43 and 36 points.
