After recovering from a knee injury, Raul Neto bounced back into action and went on to ink a deal with FC Barcelona.
Neto, 32, signed a contract for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, the team announced on Monday.
“I have already talked with some players, I have seen games, and I am ready to play and help the team as much as possible,” he said in an interview with Barca One.
With Barca exploring other options since Nicolas Laprovittola was ruled out for the rest of the season, Neto was in his efforts to recover from a serious setback. After missing the entire 2023-24 season, stuck to the injury list of Fenerbahce Beko, he returned to Brazil and signed with Pinheiros midway through October. Over five appearances in the NBB, he tallied 16.8 points and 5.0 assists per contest.
Completing the move to Barca and the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, he already passed the necessary medical tests.
“I am in the best moment of the last two years,” he described, “I have fully recovered from the knee injury and regained my rhythm.”
Displaying his talents in the NBA for eight years, between 2015 and 2023, the Sao Paulo native recorded 466 appearances with the Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards, and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Before switching to the league based in North America, he became a veteran of 132 games in the ACB over four years in Spain’s Liga Endesa with UCAM Murcia and Lagun Aro GBC.
