David McCormack was released from EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and inked a deal with ALBA Berlin for the remainder of the 2024-25 season on Monday.
“I’m looking forward to getting to work with my new teammates. I want to bring a lot of energy onto the field from the first game and will do everything I can to win together with the team. I can’t wait to get to know the city,” he welcomed the move to the Albatrosse.
Introducing himself to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, the 25-year-old center tallied 1.0 points, 0.7 rebounds, 0.2 steals, and 0.2 steals per contest. He featured in six games, including one participation in the starting lineup of head coach Ettore Messina. He also averaged 7.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game over four appearances in Italy’s LBA UnipolSai.
Slowed down by an injury in his right knee, the Bronx native was sidelined in late October. After three weeks on the injury list, he recently returned to action and a minor role in the rotation of Scarpette Rosse.
Coming out of four years with Kansas and a leading role in an NCAA championship campaign in 2021-22, McCormack launched his professional career playing for Besiktas in the 2022-23 editions of the FIBA Europe Cup and Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi. In 2023-24, he switched to fellow Turkish club Darussafaka Lassa and the Basketball Champions League, and in December signed with Galatasaray Ekmas.
