In the recent General Assembly of Partners, Real Madrid presented key figures across all divisions, including the basketball section.

The basketball budget for the 2024-25 season was estimated at 44.5 million euros with projections extending to an attached financial damage of 19 million euros, relays insider Marc Mundet.

For the 2023-24 season, the basketball division generated a record-breaking revenue of 25.1 million euros. However, countering the initial plan to reduce expenses, the team cost went up to 46.3 million euros, resulting in a total deficit of 20.8 million euros in the financial year, as noted by Mundet in a separate post on X.

In the 2024-25 edition of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, the team coached by Chus Mateo is on the bottom end of the Play-In Showdown zone behind a 5-6 record. The poor start created a distance of two games from the top six seeds leading directly to the 2025 Playoffs with 23 outings remaining in the 34-game double-legged round-robin schedule. Up next, in Round 12 of the Regular Season, a meeting with archrival FC Barcelona in Palau Blaugrana on Thursday.

The domestic situation corresponds to a 6-2 W-L tally, ranking second in the standings of Spain’s Liga Endesa. With a one-game lead over Los Blancos, Unicaja is on top at 7-1. Resuming the ACB schedule on Sunday, the team based in the capital of Spain will be on the road against Joventut Badalona in Round 9 of the 34-game Regular Season.
