Although Giorgos Printezis has retired from basketball, he has left a lasting legacy in the EuroLeague, as well as in Greek and European basketball overall. His opinion carries great weight, especially when it comes to evaluating players’ talent.
The Olympiacos legend appeared on “Getting to Know” show on YouTube, hosted by Baskonia‘s Chima Moneke. Printezis touched on several topics about his career and singled out the talents of Kendrick Nunn and Sasha Vezenkov when asked about his favorite players in the current EuroLeague.
“Kendrick Nunn, in my opinion, is an incredible talent. He might be the greatest talent to ever come to Greece, as far as I can remember. I recall Dominique Wilkins, Eddie Johnson, and Dino Radja, of course, but he’s something special. The longer he stays here, the more he’ll improve because he has basketball IQ. It’s not just about his one-on-one skills; it’s also about his mind.”
Speaking about Vezenkov, Printezis expressed his admiration for how the Bulgarian international and Olympiacos power forward quietly racks up 20 points per game:
“As for Sasha, I love the way he scores 20 points in every game. It’s amazing. You look at the scoreboard and see 20 points and wonder how. He hasn’t even touched the ball. How is that possible?“
