Following an early exit from ACB action with FC Barcelona on Sunday, Dario Brizuela is set to remain sidelined for two to three weeks.

Barca updated the status of the 30-year-old guard on Tuesday.

Tests by the medical staff of the Catalonia giant confirmed a psoas muscle injury.

The setback occurred during Round 9 of Spain’s Liga Endesa Regular Season, a meeting with BAXI Manresa in Pavello Nou Congost.

The native of San Sebastian produced 6.3 points, 1.8 assists, 1.1 rebounds, 0.5 steals, and 0.1 blocks per game over 11 appearances in the 2024-25 installment of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. In domestic action, he tallied 6.6 points, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 rebounds per ACB contest over eight games.

Besides Brizuela, more players on the injury list for the team coached by Joan Penarroya entering a two-game week of the  EuroLeague Regular Season extend to Nicolas Laprovittola (right knee surgery), Chimezie Metu (left knee sprain), and Raul Neto (groin). Also, Jabari Parker (left knee contusion) is questionable to play against Panathinaikos Aktor in OAKA Altion on Tuesday night.

For the defending EuroLeague champions, Kostas Antetokounmpo (knee), Marius Grigonis (back), and Ioannis Papapetrou (suspension) are out. The remaining players, including Kendrick Nunn recovering from illness, are available for head coach Ergin Ataman.

At 7-6, Barcelona and Panathinaikos are tied with Zalgiris in sixth place of the EuroLeague standings, the lowest seed corresponding to a direct ticket to the playoffs at the end of the 34-game double-legged round-robin schedule.
