Who can stop Paris? Not Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv in Belgrade. The final score was 93-81 for the French leaders of the standings who now have a 10-3 record and can already dream about the playoffs.
TJ Shorts with 22 points and eight assists led the charge for one more game, Maodo Lo had 19 points, Nadir Hifi added 15 and Tyson Ward had 14.
“The gym was empty so we had to find the energy and I think we did that, everyone from players to stuff”, said Lo.
Maccabi simply couldn’t stop Paris’s high-octane offense which got their 9th straight win in the EuroLeague season.
They got 14 points from Levi Randolph, Rokas Jokubaitis, Jaylen Hoard, and Marial Shayok, who scored 12 points each, but the problem was defense.
Paris in the driver’s seat
Paris remains hot, as evidenced by never trailing in the game. The French side was constantly in the driver’s seat, opening the game with a 22-10 lead and closing the first period up by four (22-18).
Things were even easier for them in the second period with a partial score of 28-18. Hifi, Shorts, and Lo had already 10 or more points at halftime which ended with Paris up by 14 (50-36).
Maccabi tried to react and trimmed the lead to 10 (68-58) at the end of the third period but they couldn’t get any closer.
To be exact, Maccabi couldn’t get closer than eight points (68-60) and Paris cruised until the end.
