Bayern at home can really score and that was the case against Baskonia.

The final 94-80 proved that the Germans found a way to be contenders with a 9-5 record, while Baskonia dropped to 6-8.

Carsen Edwards with 27 points, all of them in the second half, and the duo of Andreas Obst and Devin Booker with 18 points each, couldn’t be denied.

“It’s definitely a good win, we had some tough losses and we have to build momentum after that”, admitted Edwards since Bayern lost the previous two games on the road to Anadolu Efes and Crvena Zvezda.

“I like our response, we struggled for three games, we were down and somehow we found the energy”, added coach Gordon Herbert.

Chima Moneke with 25 points and 11 rebounds had a stellar game for the losing side.

Markus Howard scored 19 points for the guests with 3/12 threes and Tadas Sedekerskis added 10.

Bayern closed the game perfectly

The first half was balanced with the two teams tied at 22 at the end of the first period. Baskonia opened up the second with a 9-1 run (31-23) only for the score to be tied at 44 at halftime.

Booker already had 16 points for the home side and Moneke 17 for the guests and nothing changed in the first minutes of the third quarter.

With Baskonia leading 61-59 however, Bayern finally managed to get a 10-0 run in two minutes, getting a 69-61 lead entering the fourth period.

Edwards with a three pushed the lead for the first time to double digits (72-61) with the first shot of the last quarter and Baskonia couldn’t turn the tide again.

The best Baskonia did was trim the lead to three (76-73) with Markus Howard scoring 17 points but what followed was two threes from Andreas Obst as Bayern closed the game with an 18-7 partial score.
